My little girl turned 3 this past week and when I asked her what type of party she wanted she told me Princess’s of course. So I put a bit of a shabby chic spin on it and even though I may have gone a bit overboard, it so much fun to plan. All it took was a trip to Fabricland, my vintage Queen Anne tea set and a couple of trips to the dollar store for the paper plates and little gems. I am not going to lie, I had help of some of my talented friends and a couple of family members but after all was said and done it was perfect.
One of my talented bestie’s, Janelle, took fashion in college and used to own a seamstress business so she was a total doll and handmade sweet P a beautiful princess dress. It made the day even that more special for her to wake up to such a pretty dress laid out on her bed to wear for the day. I made cute roses out of the extra material as well as used some pretty gem flowers from an old necklace that I attached to the the the body of the dress. So pretty.
My sweet girlfriend Kershia and I had a wine and crafting night where we made all the cute lil’decorations. The mantel was decorated with some simple tulle pom poms and little plastic gems that I was able to pick up at the local Dollarama.
I also bought some vintage inspired fabric that I cut into strips and tied around a long piece of ribbon to make a swag for the mantel. I now have it hung in her room and it looks so pretty.
For the table I just scattered paper doilies and my pretty Queen Anne tea set along and then topped it off with the tulle pom pom’s and lil’gems
The adorable cake was all the handy work of my lovely neighbour who is more like an Auntie to my kids. She worked so hard on making it perfect and even sprinkled 24k gold flakes on the top of the dress.
I made these cute little ballerina marshmallow pops by dipping the marshmallows in white chocolate and rolling them in pink and purple sprinkles. I then added the upside down muffin paper to make it look like lil’ballerina’s. I put some styrofoam balls in the bottom of the tea cups and stuck the little cake sticks in so that the pops would stand up.
Pink Lemonade and macaroons… yes please!!!
We even had a couple of princess’s show up to paint the girls nails and put on sparkle tattoos for them. They also helped as we did a craft where the girls all got to decorate pretty pink crowns. The little ones eyes got huge when the princess’s came in the door.
I was so pleased with how the day turned out and my sweet little girl had a day to remember.
