A Little Bit of Sparkle

It’s no secret how much I love a beautifully decorated home and when I came across this one, I couldn’t not do a feature for y’all!! My lovely friend Kim has been a nurse, flight attendant and raised three children as a stay at home. Over the years she has gathered a collection of decor that will have you swooning.

Kim now shares a beautiful blog with her daughter Lacey

Kim recently changed the color palette to a cooler tone by painting all the walls a light taupey gray and lightened up the furnishings. The decor in her home has evolved over time as Kim loves shopping at flea markets, antique shops and garage sales to find unique vintage treasures. She likes to mix in vintage finds with a classic style and is drawn to different decor items such as animal print, fur and sparkle. Patina items and anything that is distressed or chippy are also on her radar. She basically looks for things that catch her eye and hope they all look ok together.

Her favourite part about this house is the open floor plan and generous room sizes. “We have a big extended family and host Christmas, so its nice for that” Kim says.

Kim also loves cottage, coastal and farmhouse styles and has incorporated more of that look into her summer lake house. She loves how it’s been fun having two homes to decorate!

Window valances are curtain panels from Target that she tied up to look like a roman shade.

The gray table runner and square are from H&M Home.

The large silver candle sticks and gray candles from Homegoods, most of the small candlesticks collected over time from vintage shops.

The white loveseat is from Ikea as well as the grey check pillows. The wicker chairs are from Target years ago and were originally brown in color,  Kim painted them a beautiful white.
All tables are second hand finds.

The lamps are made out of old spindles that were bought at flea market.
