Something spooky is in the air at our house these days….. As much as Halloween is not my favourite holiday to decorate for, it is my kids, so we go all out!! It’s funny because every year we decorate my poor son is the first one to ask when we can get up the halloween decor but then he is the one that gets so scared of our decorations that he won’t use the front door. The struggle is real. I put together a few photos of this seasons scary stuff.
This year I was loving our fall decor inside so much that we kept most of the skulls and spiders outside. Most of the decorations I have simply came from our local Dollar Store or Walmart and were very inexpensive.
The spider webbing is probably the kids favourite part to decorate and we add a ton of scary spiders, gouls and bats into the mix.
I had already purchased a ton of pumpkins for the step from our local pumpkin patch and grocery stores, so from there I just added skulls that were nestled in between the pumpkins and crows on top of them. It was easy to get the birds to stay as they had wires on the bottom of their feet and I simply stuck the wires right into the pumpkins they were sitting on.
My large BEWARE sign was a Homesense score and I love how it sets the mood.
My DIY scary door wreath tutorial can be found here.
My hubby was racking the leaves from out front that day so he made a huge pile to look like a grave and we threw limbs and skulls into the pile. We then added a gravestone and black roses to make it extra spooky.
In previous years I have done fun games for Halloween, like starting You’ve Been BOOED/BOOZED letter in the community
. For all the free templates to start your own game and the details on how it works head over to my post from last year here.
