Thanksgiving Table Talk – My Autumn Tablescape

This past month, I hosted an amazing 11 year anniversary party for my husband and I! We had our whole wedding party come to wine and dine!  I wanted my table to reflect all the Fall feels and have the perfect touches of outdoor elements. I also wanted something that would last for the whole autumn season so that we could enjoy it for Canadian Thanksgiving as well, which is celebrated in early October. I love how the whole event turned out and the table was exactly how I envisioned. Take a peek below at how it all turned out. Enjoy!

In the past, I have always had a very long Autumn tablescape that made it difficult to have food placed at the table during the meal.

This year I decided to keep it smaller but I still needed that ‘wow’ factor. I started by stacking a few willow wreaths I had kicking around on top of my long linen table runner and then I added my beautiful doug bowl from The Antique Farmhouse full of large candles on those.

I had a good year in the garden this year with plenty of Limelight and Annabelle hydrangeas so I wanted to make sure I had those included in there to give a fall feel.

Picking these at the end of the season like I did allows them to dry while still holding their shape and appearance.

I had picked up some bundles of wheat from Homesense and decided to layer a few of those in the areas that looked like they needed it.

I was also able to get some pretty small white pumpkins and gourds from the local farmers market so I scattered those throughout.

At first I thought that was enough but as the day of the event got closer I decided I wanted to add some pretty fresh hydrangeas and white roses into the mix!

I picked up a few of each at Costco and also grabbed some water picks from my local florist shop here in town.

I put all the fresh flowers into the water picks and that allowed the centrepiece to last almost a week, refilling the picks every other day.

I had picked up the pretty woven chargers from Walmart for $8 each in the spring and similar dinnerware can be found at the Potterybarn , find a similar cutlery on Wayfair.

My napkins from William Sonoma where wrapped in cute little chicken wire napkin rings and then I tucked a few strands of wheat through.

Find an affordable version of these at Walmart.

It all came together perfectly and I was so happy with the finished table. All images from this post are done by the talented Meghan Unger Photography.DSC_0680
