A Night To Remember! My Top Party Planning Tips on Hosting a Big Bash.

Last month was my anniversary and we celebrated it by having the most amazing gathering of all our favourite people… I would say it was the best night I have had since our wedding! It truly was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and a lot of that was due to the amazing collaborations I had take part in hosting the event!!  We spent the day enjoying each other over the most delicious food and wine and even had a few good laughs while watching each other 11 years earlier on our wedding video, the evening ended with everyone dancing the night away! I could not have asked for a more perfect way to spend my anniversary. Below, I  have complied some of my best party planning tips as well as some of the beautiful images from the day. Enjoy!

Send invitations, Pick all your favourite folks that you are wanting to come. I love to use Facebook invites because then you can add updates leading up to the party. Something as formal as our anniversary party, I sent handmade invites.


Clean the house leading up to the party . . . this will help you feel more relaxed on the day of! It will take a lot of pressure off you when you have other things to worry about.

Have the decor dealt with ahead of time... I had everything on my table and ready to rock so that it was less stressful when everyone arrived.

Red Rooster Winery graciously paired and supplied all the wines to go perfectly with our amazing Barcelona Tavren catered menu! B Vintage even got to do a full takeover of Red Rooster Wine’s Instagram account! SO. MUCH. FUN.

Stick to tried-and-true recipes … to avoid food disasters the day of your bash. Or even have something cooked and ready in the oven or slow cooker to really make things simple for you. There are lots of amazing recipes that you can have prepared ahead of time on my site.

Be ready early … get a few friends or your family on board to help prepare before the event. The more you are organized before everyone arrives the easier the evening will flow.

Set the temperature to cool … — The space will heat up quickly so make sure to drop the temp a couple notches to keep everyone comfortable.

The amazing Makeup.by.Ashleigh was there making all the girls sparkle with her ridiculous talent at doing makeup and the entire event was captured by the crazy talented Megan Unger Photography!

Use your washing machine as an extra refrigerator… So easy!! Filling a washer with ice and using it to chill wine and beer is such easy, mess free idea and is perfect if your running low on fridge space.

Have extra recycle and garbage stations set… This will just make your clean up so much easier the next day or later that night

Stock your restroom with all the extras… hand towels, toilet paper, soap, etc. Your guests will be more comfortable if they don’t have to awkwardly ask for items.

 

Enjoy yourself… Have a drink and enjoy yourself! The more relaxed that you are the more your guests will enjoy themselves.

Tidy up before bed… Do as many dishes as you can after the party — you’ll thank yourself in the morning!
