Sectional Decisions

Attic Space, Gas stove fireplace

SO excited to be heading into the Calgary renovation show this evening! I’m hoping to get some inspiration for decorating the attic and learned some great tips and tricks from the pros! Most of all, I’m excited to get to meet Sarah Richardson in person!! She’s always been one of my favorites!

In the meantime, I’m busy scoping for sectionals for the attic. There are so many that I absolutely adore and can envision in the space however I struggle with getting anything up into the space. The staircase is very small and there is an extremely tight corner at the bottom it makes it hard to move anything into the space. Options are limited however I don’t want to give up great style for that reason. Here are a few of the sectional options that I am looking at for this space. Which one is your favorite??

Gena 2-Piece Linen-Look Fabric Sectional – The Brick

Colour – Cotton

I have seen a few other bloggers on Instagram that have this particular couch. When I first sat in this sectional in the showroom, I couldn’t believe how comfortable it was! It has a slight recline which was so comfortable!! I also loved that if you took the back cushions off it literally was equivalent in size to two single beds. Having young kids who will be having friends for sleepovers for the next 10 or 15 years this would be SUCH a great fit!! The price point is spot on as well.

EKTORP Sectional, 4-seat corner – Ikea

Colour – Flodafors white
This sectional from IKEA, matches the couches we have on the main level of our home. It would keep the feel of the house the same both upstairs and downstairs. I also like that it has slip covers that you can remove them wash, thus allowing a lighter couch cover to be a more practical option. This sectional could be brought into the space without any trouble and assembled in the room. The price point on this option is very affordable as well.

Colour – Burnished Walnut
This beauty would be so perfect in our space! Comfortable, the perfect size, and I just adore this distressed leather. To me, this couch is so classic and timeless. The price is higher than I want to spend right now and would it fit up my stair case???

Nixon Sofa Chaise – Urban Barn

Colour – Gionnva Pewter

This beauty from the Urban Barn, is one of my favourite options! I love the sleek look of it and think it would go perfectly in my space. My only concern is wether or not this will fit up my staircase. I even think this darker gray would look lovely in the space and of course that would be more practical with kids.

Sectional OptionsIrving Place Heston Leather Sofa – ABC Home

Colour – Heston

This is by far my favourite choice of couches! I am absolutely in love with the vintage leather on this piece, however this piece in particular, will not fit up the staircase. Can’t beat the classic, timeless look of leather furniture.

Which sectional do you like the best? Leave me a comment below.

  1. My favourite would be the leather sectional which will only look better as time goes by, but as you say, very expensive and might not fit your staircase. My second choice would be the Ektorp sectional. I’m sure whatever you choose will be stunning! A most beautiful space!!
